Calendar design
In the second year of studies, we were given an assignment to design a calendar. I designed a fascinating and functional calendar that balances aesthetics with usability. The project included choosing a cohesive color palette, appropriate typography and creating a layout that seamlessly combines both visual elements and practical functionality. The final design received positive feedback for its clarity and creative approach.
The Design Concept
The calendar was designed using a unique approach where each month is represented through carefully crafted photo collages. The collages incorporate seasonal themes, with colors meticulously chosen to match the mood and atmosphere of each month. This concept creates a visually cohesive experience, where the transition from one month to the next is both seamless and reflective of the natural changes throughout the year.
Personal Design For Each Month
Each month’s design began with selecting key visual elements that embody the essence of that particular time of year. Photos were curated based on seasonal themes—like snow for winter months or blooming flowers for spring. Once the images were selected, they were arranged into a collage that encapsulates the month's spirit. Matching colors were then applied to both the images and the background, ensuring harmony and balance in the overall design. The process was iterative, with adjustments made to fine-tune the relationship between the photos and colors, ultimately creating a cohesive and aesthetically pleasing calendar.
